A NOTE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS

While the week's assignments are posted each Monday, structure and pacing is important for your children to retain information! If your schedule allows you to complete assignments one day at a time according to this schedule, the daily schedule will work for you. If you are an essential worker and cannot work with your child until later in the day, I completely understand - a flexible weekly schedule may work best for you. Posting the daily assignments for the week is for your benefit. You may help your child work through the assignments as you need to in order to help your child through the material.

MONDAY, MAY 4

On First in Math, Justin is the Player of the Day! Great job! Reagan is in second place, and Lily is in third. Nice job! Thank you too, Mimi, for playing last week!

Attendance

Religion

  • Make a Mary shrine in front of your house, in your backyard, or indoors with whatever you can. It can be very simple, it can take many steps, or it can be anywhere in between. Here are some ideas - 1, 2, 3, coloring pages

Math

Grammar

  • Complete p. 188-189.

Spelling

  • Watch the video on compound words: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRQN1cbqGN8

  • Look at all of your spelling words on List 20. Spell them out loud with your body, the same silly ways we did in school (ex. miner, jump rope, ballerina...you can make it up).

Reading

Science

  • This week we are going to talk about why we need to protect our skin from the sun, what can happen if we don't protect our skin, and how we can notice when something looks wrong on our skin. It is important that you watch all of your science videos with an adult this week!

  • Today we are going to watch a video about kids whose skin was damaged. They had something called skin cancer, but they all got better. There are no scary or gross pictures, but they do show their scars where the cancer was and talk a little bit about how it was treated, but not in detail. If this video might be too upsetting for you to watch, you don't have to, but it will help you understand why it is so important that we take care of our skin. Parents: please preview this video before showing it to your child. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YM26fspmqM
