This Holy Week is unlike any other - we cannot celebrate this most holy of weeks in our normal manner. Yet while our churches are closed to us, the Church (our family in Christ) marches on. Here are some activities you can use with your child to bring our faith into these days at home.
Watch Holy Week services online from parishes in the area. You can see all of these links compiled here:
FORMED.ORG:
FORMED.org has many great faith-based videos and books for kids. The Story of a Saint videos are personal favorites of mine. Explore the site and see what things your child might enjoy!
Videos to Watch:
Sign up for a free account on https://us-en.superbook.cbn.com to watch episodes of Superbook. They have proven to be very popular with my students over the years!
The Last Supper: https://us-en.superbook.cbn.com/episode_player?v=3769066478001
Easter: https://us-en.superbook.cbn.com/episode_player?v=3772736651001
Coloring and Activity Pages:
Follow the link to my Google Drive file, where I have compiled many resources to keep your child busy. You can also find many, many other free resources by Googling!
Other fun things to do:
Hold your own holy week services! Mimic the real services, or let the kids figure out what they can and want to do to make the day special and all about Jesus. Here are some ideas: https://sophiainstituteforteachers.org/holyweek2020?utm_source=mailchimp&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=holyweek
Make up or find a resource and put on a play acting out the events of Holy Week. (And send me a video if you do. I would love to see that!)
Make cards for people who can't see their families this Easter, like nursing home residents, grandparents, other family members.
Make decorations for your windows out of leftover tissue paper or construction paper.

Have a blessed and safe Easter weekend!
